Visit Willesborough Junior School

Willesborough Infant School

To get the best out of school and all it has to offer, children need to come to school every day and be on time.

With Covid restriction lifting we expect to return to normal school day times. School starts t 8:45.

If your child is not coming to school because they are ill or have an appointment, please contact the school office between 8.30am and 9.30am, explaining why they will not be with us.

For safeguarding reasons, if we have not heard from you by 9.30am we will contact you.

If your child is going to be in late after an appointment we ask that you inform us as to whether your child will need a school dinner.

Attendance is monitored regularly by the local authority.  We will inform you if your child’s attendance becomes a cause for concern and see what we can do to help.

If you are having problems getting your child to school on a regular basis or as a 'one off' occasion please let us know and we will do everything we can to help.

Holiday/Leave of absence from school

The school will not authorise time off for family holidays or events.

Please ask in the office if you require a hard copy of our Attendance policy.  Application forms for leave are available from the school office and need to be completed for any days where your child is going to be away from school for a reason other than illness.  Please do not take holiday in term time.

Attendance Ted and Punctuality Pup

We teach the children about the importance of coming to school every day and being punctual.

Attendance Ted and Punctuality Pup are awarded to the classes with the best attendance and punctuality every week in our Monday Celebration Assembly.  There is always a cheer when the awards are announced and Ted enjoys sharing his weekly learning diary with the children.

Below is a copy of our Attendance leaflet detailing the school day and giving a brief overview of our attendance policy/illness procedure.  If you would like a paper copy, please visit the school office.
